About
Two questions, every day
Every rotation you will ever do asks the same two questions of you, over and over: what do you think this is? and what do you want to do next? Nobody gets good at those by reading about them once. You get good by answering them, being told you were wrong, and answering again tomorrow. DDxam is one case a day, built so that the daily rep is short enough to keep and hard enough to matter.
High-value care, as a game mechanic
In a real clinic every test has a price: money, time, radiation, a false positive that sends a well patient down a corridor of more tests. Good clinicians order what will change the decision and skip what will not. That is high-value care, and it is usually taught as a lecture. Here it is the rules. You start every case with a fixed budget, every workup you order comes off it, and the score is whatever you had left when you named the diagnosis. Ordering everything is not a strategy. A defensible differential is: hints you buy while the right answer is already sitting in your locked Top-3 cost half, and a plausible differential earns a bonus at the end. The game pays you for thinking before you order, because that is what the job pays you for too.
Serious content, unserious wrapper
The medicine is real: illness scripts, reference ranges, a walkthrough that shows the cheapest path to the answer and where each distractor should have died. The wrapper is deliberately a game: a streak to protect, a board to climb, a league to needle your friends in. Not because the material needs sugar, but because the thing that makes anyone better at diagnosis is doing it every day, and a game is the most reliable way we know to make a person come back.
Free, and on your side
DDxam is free, has no ads, and tracks nothing about you beyond the scores you choose to save. It is built by medical students for the people learning what we are learning. If a case is wrong, tell us and we will fix it; if the game could teach something better, tell us that too.
